Hi Everyone,
This month I’ll share two items:
First, I want to share a healthy habit I’ve been doing more consistently called contrast therapy. This is where you alternate from hot water to cold water in the shower.
I like to do about 1-2 minutes of hot water (not too hot – stay safe!) and then 1-2 minutes of cold water.
Potential benefits of this can include lowering inflammation, which can relieve pain and have other benefits, reducing pain, helping joints, and promoting circulation.
It also feels great! One interesting point I notice is that for the first few days of doing this, the water feels sooo cold! But after doing this consistently, believe it or not, I actually wish the water got colder! You really do get used to it. This is a habit I will consider doing most days.
*I’d recommend not doing this without checking with your doctor if you have any health conditions.
If you are interested in reading more about this practice, here is an article written by a physical therapist, more from an injury recovery standpoint, and using baths instead of a shower.
Next, as another update related to our app, I have started a private SparkTeam in our community that includes more information about the new streaks/planning software feature we are building. If you’d like a sneak preview, just send me a direct message in the app by connecting with me in the community.
Here is my profile (you need to be logged in). I’d love to connect!
Happy August!
