Introduction

Baked or slow cooked, these delicious and tender ribs are low in sugar but big on flavor.

Ingredients

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 pounds country-style pork ribs (to yield 16 ounces meat before cooking)
1/4 cup onion, diced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon sugar-free maple-flavored syrup
1 dash black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

Directions

Combine all ingredients except the ribs in a medium bowl. Pour over the ribs.

If baking in the oven, place the ribs in a baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 60-90 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees.

If preparing in the crockpot, cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours.
