Slow Cooker Steak and Ale Stew
Introduction
Based on the English classic steak and ale pie, this is a crust-free version that's just as filling.
Ingredients
1 pound stew beef
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced celery
1 cup bell pepper
1 pound baby carrots
1 cup beef stock
1 pint (16 ounces) ale or lager
1 tsp thyme
1 can tomato paste
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Put all ingredients in a crockpot. Set on low and cook 6-8 hours. Serve with a hearty slice of grainy bread.
